Recently, a critical mass of research has provided what might be the most basic and irrefutable argument in favor of happiness: Happiness and good health go hand-in-hand. Indeed, scientific studies have been finding that happiness can make our hearts healthier, our immune systems stronger, and our lives longer. Several of the studies cited below suggest that happiness causes better health; others suggest only that the two are correlated—perhaps good health causes happiness but not the other way around. Happiness and health may indeed be a virtuous circle, but researchers are still trying to untangle their relationship.
We like to think our weekly color emails make people happier...this is our desire and wish for all who receive them.

This Weeks Color Email
START YOUR WEEK WITH A NIGHT ROUTINE

If you've received my late night emails before then you may know that I'm a night owl. Or, at least I was.
Recently, I've been trying to make a better effort with maintaining a nightly routine, and with the awesome results I'm experiencing, I was inspired to share this with you.
I a few years ago I was able to stay up late almost every night with really no noticeable effects the following day. However, over the last year or so, this has changed. On nights that I stay up late, especially consecutive nights, I really notice a difference in my general mood, productivity, and the overall day the next day.
Now, being a busybody, it's often hard to let myself fall asleep as early as I want. But in addition to hitting the sack on time, I've found several additional ways to build a nightly routine that helps me get to bed on time, have a better quality sleep, and therefore have a better, more productive day in the morning. Following, are some tips, but I encourage you to find what works best for you!
Unpacking from Work
Instead of getting home and throwing my keys, phone, backpack, wallet etc. all over the house, I try to put everything away in the same place day after day, in one location so that it's easy to just grab my stuff and go the next morning.
Not eating right before Bed
Bumping up the time I eat dinner has helped me kick-off my evening routine. You can relax better and earlier with a full belly and the kitchen cleaned up, knowing you still have some time to relax before going to bed.
Dimming the Lights
Recently I've purchased those new smart lightbulbs for my house, which allow me to set a timer to have them start to slowly dim. This helps my body get ready for sleep at the same time nightly. If you don't have smart light bulbs, you can just turn down the lights when you're ready.
Avoid the Screens
This one is hard for me because I love tv, being on my laptop and using my phone after dinner.
But I find this one really helps. Try to avoid binging on entertainment when you're about to go to bed. It really helps me relax.
I hope that some of these tips help you get the most out of your nightly routine.
